Some Website Basics

So you have a website but is it doing what would wanted it to do for your business? Too many will not answer this question with a yes.  Like everything
else, getting the basics right are an important ingredient to success. So let me touch on a few of the most important website basics.

Your website should have excellent content. It should be fresh, relevant and current--ever changing. Don't be too wordy--it will scare people away. Make use of videos. Let it be interactive--make use of a blog.

Your website should be user friendly & simple to navigate.  Let it have a consistent look throughout so that it's easy to get around on all the pages.

Your website should be attractive.  The design should be professional, consistent and the colors should blend well together.

Your website should offer something that your competitors do not.  Maybe a free service, or information that's not readily available elsewhere. This will cause people to bookmark your site--and you want that!

Use Social Media to advertise your website and business like Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Blogger and more.  Use as many as you can.

Submit your website to the key (and free) online directories.

Announce a contest for your clients and prospects to participate in.  You'll gather e-mail addresses, contact names and more marketing information without paying high dollars.

Make use of Google AdWords.  If you've never used this advertising medium, try it for free.  I have a link to a coupon worth $75 in free advertising.  I don't know how long the coupon is valid so if it works try it today:

Just having a website won't guarantee traffic--you have to actively make your website worthy of traffic.  Good luck and have fun watching the results of your hard work.

Have Your Cake & Eat it Too!

Congratulations to our newest client, No Whey Health Foods of Pitman, NJ.
They have just celebrated the grand opening of their storefront across the street from the Broadway Theater of Pitman. It's a family owned business that was born from a dream to help people, like their daughter Hanna, with food allergies. Now these people can expand their food choices and, as the owners put it, "Have their cake and eat it too". We at SiteRipe have been thrilled to play a part in helping Betsy & Kevin to see their dream come true and we commend them on their foresight to open their markets beyond Pitman, NJ to the whole world by launching www.nowheyhealthfoods.com.  I invite you to visit their website and to try the delicious foods they offer.

In Business-- Timing might not be "everything" but it's important.

SiteRipe congratulates Quantum Renovations for timing the launch of their newly redesigned website to coincide with significant advertising and a major trade show event. What a good feeling it is to be able to talk about your business knowing that you have a brand new sleek website to represent your business 24 hours a day 365 days a year.

What events are on the horizon for your business? Are you going to attend the upcoming event and pass out your cards with confidence that your website is fresh, relevant, functional and very pleasing to the eye; or are you going to just quickly mention your website secretly hoping that your prospect wont visit it...

We congratulate Quantum Renovations for taking a big step in improving their brand and wish them the very best. We invite you to visit www.quantumrenovations.net

Upgrade your website

So many of the websites out there need some modernization. When prospects are searching for the products and services that you offer they are making a judgement within seconds of clicking on your website link.

What image do you want to display for your business?  A fresh, relevant, functional website that adds profits to your bottom line should be the goal of every business that has an online presence.  Are you making excuses for your website or are you proudly proclaiming your URL when handing out your business card? Is your website a good reflection of your business? Maybe it's time for an upgrade.  We don't hesitate to upgrade our computers, our cars, our homes so if your website needs some sprucing up---stop procrastinating today.

We congratulate our newest client Tribeca Hair Studio of Swedesboro, NJ who decided to improve the look and relevance of their website.  Take a look:

Customized Website vs. a Template

One of the reasons you've taken your business to the web is to set it apart from the competition.  You want to build your brand awareness and promote your unique competitive advantages and to help you accomplish these things you need a custom built website.  While templates are usually cheaper than customized work, you really do get what you pay for. The last thing you need on the web is a "cookie cutter" look.  Your business was custom made and your website should reflect its uniqueness.  Remember your website is a reflection of your business and these days people are searching the internet more than the phone book. Your website might be the very first impression of your business that your prospects will see.  Give those who are searching for your products and services a reason to say "Wow" when they click on your link...
