So you have a website but is it doing what would wanted it to do for your business? Too many will not answer this question with a yes. Like everything
else, getting the basics right are an important ingredient to success. So let me touch on a few of the most important website basics.
Your website should have excellent content. It should be fresh, relevant and current--ever changing. Don't be too wordy--it will scare people away. Make use of videos. Let it be interactive--make use of a blog.
Your website should be user friendly & simple to navigate. Let it have a consistent look throughout so that it's easy to get around on all the pages.
Your website should be attractive. The design should be professional, consistent and the colors should blend well together.
Your website should offer something that your competitors do not. Maybe a free service, or information that's not readily available elsewhere. This will cause people to bookmark your site--and you want that!
Use Social Media to advertise your website and business like Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Blogger and more. Use as many as you can.
Submit your website to the key (and free) online directories.
Announce a contest for your clients and prospects to participate in. You'll gather e-mail addresses, contact names and more marketing information without paying high dollars.
Make use of Google AdWords. If you've never used this advertising medium, try it for free. I have a link to a coupon worth $75 in free advertising. I don't know how long the coupon is valid so if it works try it today:

Just having a website won't guarantee traffic--you have to actively make your website worthy of traffic. Good luck and have fun watching the results of your hard work.
Nice one !
