Content is King

Absolutely! Your website needs to look good.  The colors, layout, ease of navigation all need to be top quality.  But whatever you do, don't let your content take a back seat to the visual appeal of your website. The content of your website must please both people and the search engines alike, and in that order. Google, Yahoo and Bing determine if your website will display well in a search for your products and services and these search engines check your website content, not the color or design, to determine if your site is relevant to the search or not.  People are looking for exceptionable content when they visit your website.  What can they learn? What can they buy from you? How can you solve their problems?

So ask yourself--How is your content?  Is it up to date, relevant, written in a way that a 10 year old child can understand it?  Is it fresh or are you mentioning upcoming events in 2008?  Content should be concise and interesting, and if possible, have your website display useful stuff that cannot be located on too many other competitors websites.  Give people a reason to bookmark your website as one of their favorites.  You are on the web to build your business and exceptional content will do that for you.  Take the time to read a good book on how to write exceptional content or hire a firm like SiteRipe Web Solutions to help you write winning content for your website.
